Food Waste Lab

Developing technology and supply chain solutions to food waste.

I specialize in grocery retail food waste and inventory health, using a combination of deep data analysis and supply chain assessments to identify root cause improvement opportunities.

I also advise technology companies building grocery inventory control software that actually works in real operations to improve inventory health.

I'm Arthur Peterson. I spent 7 years at Amazon building systems that power Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods grocery operations, and I led Amazon Fresh’s inventory control for Produce, Meat, and Fish during 4x business growth while pioneering industry-leading waste reduction strategies.

This hands-on experience scaling perishable supply chains, combined with my technical product management and statistical background, gives me a unique perspective: I understand the data science, the underlying technology, and the operational reality of grocery retail.

MBA and Masters in Environmental Science from University of Michigan (Erb Institute). Previously helped scale food startups and led sustainability work for Ford and Boeing. I live on Bainbridge Island with my family and our small farm.
